Once again AARP will be coming to the Newport Senior Activity Center to assist you with your tax filings. Tax assistance will be free of charge and will begin February 3rd 2010 and ending on April 14th 2010

DE-Stress Acupuncture

Starting JANUARY 4TH 2010

This De-stress acupuncture clinic will be offered by Mary Jo Higgins. She is a nationally certified and state licensed acupuncturist. Her practice is called Classical Five element Acupuncture and is located in Nye Beach.

Dates of the clinic are January 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th 2010

The cost is $10.00 per session.

In this clinic five needles are placed in each ear. The first point relaxes the nervous system and reduces anxiety. The second point helps relax the mind and gives a person a sense of well being and calm. The last three points detoxify and balance the kidneys, liver and lungs. Once the needles are placed in the ears, one sits quietly for 20-45 minutes in a group setting. This can be a fun and relaxing way to experience acupuncture.

ALZHEIMER'S SEMINAR

Do you have concerns about memory loss? Whether you have dementia, or care someone who does, we will help you understand the disease and how to cope with it. Judy Mckeller has been a public speaker, educator, and an advocate for over 30 years. She is currently the Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association-Oregon Chapter, and has held that position since 2002. The seminar will be held at the Newport Senior Activity Center at 20 SE 2nd St. Newport, Or 97365.
