  Coaches Camp Schedule

Camp Philosophy
The goal of teaching basketball skills is to make them become as natural to the player as walking and talking, they don't have to think about it they just do it because those skills have been transferred to muscle memory.
The great coach John Wooden summed this up perfectly when he said:
"The four laws of learning are explanation, demonstration, imitation, and repetition. The goal is to create a correct habit that can be produced instinctively under great pressure. To make sure this goal was achieved, I created eight laws of learning, namely: explanation, demonstration, imitation, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, and repetition." -- John Wooden.

Obviously we cannot turn someone into a complete basketball player in just one week of camp. However we feel participants will improve a great deal in that short period of time, and go home with drills and techniques they can practice on their own to become the best they can be.

Physical Requirements
Camps will be fast paced, rigorous exercise. Campers should expect: Sprints, agility drills, push-ups sit-ups, and individual and team competitions. If campers have any conditions that would cause problems with this type of physical activity, they should not enroll before discussing these issues with the Sports Coordinator.

Discipline
We expect that all kids in attendance at the camp are there because they wish to learn the sport of basketball. In large group settings such as this, disruptive behavior cannot and will not be tolerated. Players who are disruptive or disrespectful will be removed from camp at the staffs discretion.
