NEWPORT ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ANALYSIS

The City of Newport, with the assistance of the consulting firm ECONorthwest, is undertaking an Economic Opportunity Analysis. The purpose of the projedt is to (a) update the City's economic data, (b) develop a cohesive economic strategy and vision for the community, and (c) better define the City's role in helping to achieve community economic development aspirations through specific policies and implementatio measures.

A Technical Advisory Committee consisting of community members was formed to gather their input and review this study. (click link for a roster of TAC members) The TAC will hold a series of approximately five meetings. The work program indicates project completion by July 30, 2012.
